Lindsey & McClain / Piper Pines, VA Wedding

When I try to think of words to describe this wedding weekend, I fall short every time. Lindsey is my best friend, and when she asked me if I would photograph her wedding, the obvious answer was a wholehearted "Yes!" Not only was I able to serve her in that way on her wedding day, but also as her matron of honor.

It was an absolutely perfect October day in Carrsville, Virginia. Back home in Minnesota, it snowed all day, but for us it was sunny skies and 75 degrees; no one could have asked for better! The venue is located on a sprawling farm property complete with horses and miniature ponies grazing in the distance. With Lindsey and her mom's eyes for detail, they were able to transform a simple barn reception area into an exquisite dinner hall.

Their ceremony was intimate, held in a clearing in the woods with 120 of their closest family and friends. The thing that was so beautiful about it was not just the setting, but the focus of the event. Lindsey and McClain took communion for their unity ceremony to acknowledge the true foundation of their marriage, and then had myself and their best man pray over them while two of their close friends sang the Hillsong United song "New Wine."

This wedding was so fun because, if I were to guess, 70% of the guests in attendance were their college friends which meant the dance floor was full! Lindsey & McClain had a sparkler exit at the end of the night before heading off to enjoy their honeymoon!

There were oh so many happy tears from me that day, and so many other people. The love that I have for Lindsey & McClain is unreal & I am so overwhelmed with joy as I look through these images.

Special thanks to Lexi Lahmann for associate shooting and to Samantha Savage for videography.

Enjoy some of my favorites:
